The Purple Heart Cane Project Carving Club was Founded in 2021

Who We Are

The Purple Heart Cane Project is a 501-C-3 nonprofit organization.  All donations are tax exempt. The idea for Purple Heart Canes started in Oklahoma some years ago and gradually spread to other carving clubs around the country. A visitor from Michigan first shared the idea with us and we knew this was a project that we wanted to get involved with.

The Purple Heart Cane

Each eagle head / Purple Heart Cane is decorated with a combat wounded Veteran’s name, rank, unit and awards they earned while in service. The Purple Heart canes are presented once a year at a ceremony that is held at the National SEAL Museum at no charge and with our utmost gratitude.

Carving Club Meetings

Carving Club Meetings: The Purple Heart Cane Project Carving Club meets every Tuesday from 10AM to 1PM at the Spanish Lakes Fairways Craftroom located at 6200 Spanish Lakes Blvd., Fort Pierce, FL 34951.

There are no fees to join the Carving Club. The only requirement is for each member to carve two eagle head canes per year.

About Our Founder

Lloyd Lasenby founder and president of the Purple Heart Cane Project is a bronze star combat Veteran who served as an infantry squad leader with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam 1970/71 and with the 20th Special Forces Group.
